Americans will head to the polls on November 8th to vote in the midterm elections, which will shape the legislative agenda for the 118th Congress and the political landscape for the 2024 presidential election.
Join ABC National political affairs team for an in-depth discussion on the midterm elections. -SPEAKER INFO- Melanie Pfeiffenberger serves as director of political affairs for ABC. Prior to joining ABC, she served as executive director of the Republican Legislative Campaign Committee, the premier national organization dedicated exclusively to electing more Republicans to state legislatures. Pfeiffenberger also has experience working in fundraising, grassroots advocacy and local government.
Peter Comstock serves as senior director of legislative affairs for ABC, focusing on federal government issues related to workforce, education, immigration and health care. Prior to his role at ABC, he worked for nearly 10 years for several elected members of Congress in the House and Senate, last of which was as deputy chief of staff and director of policy for Rep. French Hill, R-Ark.
Kristen Swearingen is vice president of legislative and political affairs at ABC National. Known as one of the top lobbyists year after year, she leads the association’s lobbying efforts on Capitol Hill and coalition efforts in the business community, chairing the 600-member Coalition for a Democratic Workplace. Prior to joining ABC, she was a staffer in the office of former Sen. Jim Bunning, R-Ky.
Vance Walter is director of legislative and political affairs at ABC. Walter manages ABC’s small business, transportation and infrastructure, energy, environment and natural resources federal legislative portfolio. He also helps manage ABC PAC with ABC’s political affairs team. Prior to joining ABC, Walter worked in the polling industry for Public Opinion Strategies.
